Elevated Skin Temperature or EST monitoring, is an extension of the field of infrared thermography applied to measuring skin temperature. The lenses used in IR cameras for EST monitoring demand high-performance Anti-Reflective (AR) optical coatings to deliver the best image quality and ensure accuracy of results.
EMF offers an innovative portfolio of precision custom and high-volume HEAR (High Efficiency Anti-Reflective) and DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coatings on most IR substrates including Germanium (Ge), Silicon (Si), Zinc Selenide (ZnSe), Zinc Sulfide (ZnS) and Chalcogenides.
Getting an optical coating right requires a unique blend of broad capabilities and deep technical know-how. EMF’s 26 coating chambers gives it an unrivaled capacity to coat 40M square inches.

In-house Metrology and Testing
EMF houses a wide range of in-house metrology for precise measurement of transmission and reflection in optics from UV to FIR at near normal and various angles of incidence (AOI). Additionally, its in-house metrology and testing equipment is duplicated across 2 different facilities offering redundancy and risk mitigation.

Customer Voices

EMF has been an excellent vendor for us in a (coatings) world where we’ve had almost nothing but mediocre to abysmal vendors.
ROBERT BENOIT

Thank you for the unparalleled service. Hard to find quick turnaround from quality shops these days. This will definitely help with our decision making moving forward.
JEREMY GORDON
It is always preferable to use a DLC process that coats up to ensure virtually pinhole free coatings.
