Manager of Operations and Engineering
Profile
This person must possess a demonstrated track record of quantifiable results in new business generation, cost reduction and quality improvement in the optical coating environment. This role leads EMF manufacturing and engineering to consistently meet customer requirements and to meet or exceed EMF goals. Strong problem-solving skills and a propensity for systemic solutions place her/him at the center of the companys activities. An effective leader, this person is a master of leading teams and individuals with the processes of: setting priorities, project management, and systematic implementation that stays in place. As the key driver of continuous improvement through revenue generation, quality improvement, and cost reduction, this person is relentless in pursuit of excellence. An effective trainer herself/himself, s/he leads by example to create an environment where constant acquisition of new skills, growth in capability and outstanding quality is the source of employee pride and profit.
Qualification
Bachelors degree in optics, physics, or engineering. MBA preferred. More than five years experience in both manufacturing and engineering supervision is required. Candidate must possess extensive experience in optical thin film coating unit operations and design. Experience with effectively implementing and maintaining a disciplined, systematic approach to manufacturing and engineering is required. Experience with thin film coatings is desirable. Experience with IT administration, system design and implementation is a plus.

Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for the activities of Production, Engineering, Purchasing, IT & information systems and Facilities departments. Ensures the profitability of the company through the creation, implementation and direction of effective manufacturing systems and engineering projects. Budget responsibility for Operations, Engineering, Safety and Training. Profit and Loss responsibility for all operational function. The Production Manager, Facilities Manager, the Engineers, and IT report to her/him. Participates in EMF management Team.
